Q. Where did you get the inspiration for the makeup in the video?
A. My greatest inspiration would have to be my followers. Most of my makeup videos are made in response to questions asked by family, friends and my followers. Other than that, my videos are inspired by a desire to simplify the complex. I like to take makeup designs that look complicated and simplify them so that beginners can try it out.
Q. Are their products that you use specifically for your Halloween tutorials?
A. I am a big believer in taking advantage of what is in front of you. You can create endless designs using the simple products that you may already have around your vanity. In my Halloween tutorial, I used makeup from my own vanity. It really comes down to your imagination and your creativity. Take advantage of social media as well. There are so many sources of inspiration on social media and it is fun to combine those ideas with your own creativity to create something totally unique and new.
Q. How do you remove your Halloween make up without damaging your skin?
A. Skin care is my highest priority, especially after putting on the Halloween makeup. The makeup I use for the Halloween tutorial can stain the skin. I love The Clinique’s Take the Day Off cleansing balm and cleansing oil for double cleansing. After that, I wash my face with First Aid Beauty’s Red Clay Mask. I rub the foaming cleanser on my face and then use Clarisonic Mia 2 to deep clean my face. After toning my face with Lancome’s Hydra Zen toner I always put The Body Shop’s Oils of Life or Lancôme Advanced Génifique Youth Activating Concentrate followed by a good moisturizer like Lancome’s Hydra Zen Anti-Stress Moisturizer or Cerave Moisturizer.
Q. How long have you been doing makeup tutorials and what inspired you to start?
A. I’ve been doing makeup professionally since 2015 and tutorials since March 2017. I’ve always been interested in mixing and matching colors in order to create something new. Tutorials these days are overly complicated and focused on marketing and selling instead of teaching the viewer and sharing information. The sole purpose of my YouTube channel is to teach my viewers and to make them understand that they don’t have to break the bank in order to look beautiful. I like to show people that products can be used in a variety of different ways and the only limitation is their own creativity
Q. Do you use any special techniques for you Halloween tutorials?
A. I like to learn new techniques from my fellow YouTubers and makeup artists. I watch their tutorials and try out their techniques. If I find something that I like then I try and put my own spin on it because I like to experiment. You should take a look at my YouTube channel if you want to see what kind of techniques I use specifically for my Halloween tutorials.
